Founded in 1889, NYMA is a coeducational, college-preparatory school with a military tradition. Through participation in JROTC (character and leadership development) the academy is designated as an Honor Unit with Distinction by the Department of the Army. The competitive academic and athletic programs are enhanced by a structured environment, a 12:1 student/teacher ratio and tutorial assistance. SAT Prep, ESL, band, computers, drill team and an equestrian program are available. The 165-acre campus is conveniently located just 60 miles north of New York City.
