Building Boarding Community Amid Political Polarization Aug 8
A Workshop for Boarding School Faculty, Staff and Residential Life Leaders
Facilitator: Liza Garonzik, R.E.A.L. Discussion, Deerfield Academy Alumna
In this moment of global conflict and deep political polarization, the challenge of nurturing boarding school communities with strong relationships and healthy discourse is critical for faculty and residential and student life leaders and staff.
As you prepare to welcome students back to campus, join TABS and Liza Garonzik, Founder of R.E.A.L. Discussion and Deerfield alumna, for a series of workshops designed to equip you with practical strategies for cultivating healthy relationships and discussions in your dorm, dining hall, classrooms, and beyond.
You’ll prepare for the key issues boarding school leaders and staff school leaders face with approaches to:
• Principles, frameworks and sound approaches to setting conditions and expectations for mission-aligned relationships and discussions
• Practical strategies for helping students and colleagues build empathy and curiosity toward one another
• Scenarios and case studies discussions centered within unique boarding school contexts
