Emily Breite is a distinguished independent school educator, with stints in teaching and administration at Lovett School and at Mount Vernon Presbyterian School, the latter widely considered a national model for innovation. Most recently, she was Executive Director of Admission for the Atlanta campus of the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), after previously serving the college as the Executive Director of Educator Outreach, designing and delivering professional learning experiences for K12 educators around the world. In every role, Emily has excelled as an inventive, relational leader who achieves results. She is a cum laude graduate of Harvard University, and holds an M.A. in English Literature from Middlebury College. Emily is eager to learn, contribute, and make an impact for our community of boarding schools, particularly with the current distancing challenges before us. Emily and her husband, Jesse, live on the campus of Christ School here in the Asheville, NC area. They have a 3-year old son, Deacon, and newborn daughter, Vivie. Jesse is in his first year with the school teaching English and coaching basketball.
